A very pretty gift box of 12 Sajou Retours du Nord embroidery threads in modern style colours.

This pretty box contains an assortment of 12 vintage colours: 2405 orange, 2010 azure, 2039 sun, 2019 spring, 2025 peony, 2032 andrinople, 2491 brick, 2006 violet, 2409 bordeaux, 2876 agate, 2529 gold and 2034 moss.

These are a high quality embroidery thread, made in France. They come in 4 separable strands and can be used like any other embroidery floss. They are however slightly finer that DMC's stranded cotton. They are also shinier and slide better and give less' bump to the finished work. The threads are presented on cards with approximately 20 meters of thread on each card.

For ecological reasons Retour du Nord threads are not colour fast, although they can be washed up to 40 degrees- just be careful never to use boiling water or bleach. Making a colour fast thread involves using highly pollutant treatments, which Sajou finds unjustified for embroidery purposes.
