An antique Anglo Indian silk panel with raised goldwork embroidery worked in the style of Jacobean crewelwork motifs. Some of the embroidery is worked in tamboured wire, the main flowers and stems are couched gold wire.
The embroidery is all intact, the silk ground however is foxed, as seen in the photos.
I am unsure of the date of this piece, however it resembles similar pieces from the 1700's
The panel is backed with a plain red coloured cotton sateen lining fabric.
The panel measures 32 x 94 cm x / 12.5 x 37 inches.
