Description and Details
A beautiful, large gift box containing all that you need to make this beautiful Sajou hand embroidered linen throw, decorated with traditional motifs taken from Sajou's vintage archives. The throw is a two tone throw worked in black and off white, the contrasting embroidery threads give the throw a very distinct contrast of matt form the Laine Sainte Pierre wool and sparkle from the Tonkin threads.
The project is perfect for both beginners and seasoned embroiderers and the small size of the linen squares makes it a perfect project for working during the commute, on lunch hours, for taking on holidays, and filling up any spare time you might have (trust me, it becomes an addictive compulsion to work this piece!). It is also a wonderful project to share with younger cross stitchers who are still learning and need to see results as the piece grows.
Contained in the box are 72 linen squares in black and off white, 12 cards of Laine Sainte Pierre embroidery wool, 12 cards of Tonkin embroidery thread (as used by the fashion house Chanel), the Red Sajou Album No. 907 which contains motifs from Sajou's vintage archives, along with instructions for making up the throw.
The finished throw measures 99 x 88 cm/ 39 x 34.5 inches.
This embroidered project is legendary! It was first published as a project featured in the 'Maison Sajou Point de Croix' book as a way of using up scraps of linen and left over embroidery threads, creating a real masterpiece. Due to high demand from customers who wished to rise to the challenge, Sajou began to produce the project as a boxed kit and have more recently added this new throw to their collection.
Materials: 32 Count Linen, Laine St Pierre Embroidery wool, Cross Stitch Embroidery Chart, Sajou Mini Cross stitch Album 907, Tonkin Embroidery thread.
