An antique Anglo Indian silk panel with couched goldwork and spangled embroidery of trailing flowers from the early 1800's. The panel also has paste rhinestones and silk hand embroidery. The pattern markings for the embroidery can be seen in part.
The panel is edged with a pretty gold passementerie with applied cupped spangles and an edging of rocaille glass beads
The silk ground is in excellent condition, some of the spangles are missing as seen in the photos. The embroidery is in excellent condition, the gold threads and spangles still sparkle as new.
The panel is backed with a plain gold coloured cotton sateen lining fabric.
The panel measures 51.5 x 85 cm x / 20.25 x 33.5 inches.
