An antique home spun and hand woven linen sheet dated 1806.
The sheet is hand sewn down the centre and the selvedge's of the sheet are intact (meaning the sheet has not been cut and reassembled due to wear). One end of the sheet has the original handsewn hem, the other end has been mended at some point and has a neat line of machine stitching.
Given the age of the sheet it is in wonderful condition, it has seen little use, there are no signs of wear or of thinning to the centre, and no marks to the linen. The linen has a good thickness and weight.
The sheet measures; 179 x 222 cm/ 64 x 87 inches.
